What did you get in the mail for 2020/2021?

Wow those look great!
Interested in hearing how they play!

They remind me of blueprint strings from back in the day. Most strings nowadays are really soft and plush, these are more coarse. Good choice if youā€™re into that feeling since there arenā€™t many strings nowadays that are like that.

He also sent me a soft string he was working on. Those reminded me of Twisted Strings. They have the slick stiff feeling of trilobal thread like markmonts but it isnā€™t super whippy like them. Still whippier than standard boutique polys like YYSL and zip line though. Also lasts noticeably longer. This is a great option for someone who likes the slick feeling and longevity of trilobal thread like markmonts without the overly whippy nature

(Sweats profusely) You all talking about them Blueprints?!?!

I think thereā€™s a place for both strings. Honestly I was expecting another generic ā€œboutiqueā€ soft poly like everybody else is making. But the standards definitely have a coarser feel, something you donā€™t see much nowadays.

And the soft version is basically a toned down Markmont string is the closest comparison I would say. You get similar longetivity and feel without the extreme whippiness many dislike about those types of strings

Yoyofreaks Savage, which is apparently wordplay on ā€œChiefā€

I just ordered a Gulch too, now all I need is an OG Gully and Iā€™m done buying yo-yos for a while, unless the Aqua Orange Fade Shutter is still around when I can justify another yo-yo purchase.

Itā€™s not even close, 100% the best $25 Iā€™ve ever spent.

Um, do you really plan to play 3A with Wedges, Replays, or PopStars???

I wanna play 3a with popstars for the memes.

Iā€™m gonna do Real 3a(3 yoyos at once) with the Replays, also for the memes.

I donā€™t really know what Iā€™m gonna do with the rest but they were like $2 each so I donā€™t really care

Hmm. The inconsistency in the division naming scheme wasnā€™t something I really thought about until you mentioned ā€œReal 3aā€.

Yeah in the next 60 hours Iā€™ll be working 30 so I wonā€™t really have time to mess around with that the next few days but Iā€™m definitely gonna get somethin goin next week :triumph:

Also just did some test throws with all of these. Theyā€™re supposed to be C grades but only one of them vibes like a C grade imo. I was expecting the wedges to be real bad cuz the ā€œA gradesā€ arenā€™t really that smooth in the first place but they donā€™t vibe much if any worse than regular wedges.

2 of the Replays even play like A grades, tho I noticed they do have a tightening issue so thatā€™s probably why theyā€™re marked as C grades
