Popstar, mini Chain Reactor, Big Dipper, fancy orange strings
An awesome fella on Instagram sent me a box of goodies a couple days ago. Said he was cleaning out some of his collection and wanted to give me a mint A-grade Circle City Muse since my B-grade has gotten some dings. Here’s what was in the box when I opened it up:
Such an amazing mail day! I was just expecting one Muse and some spare pads, he just totally surprised me with the rest!
Very nice! I got mine today as well ![]()
I think I know what @twitch77 likes about green yoyos, this color is gorgeous. Looks excellent with pink string too.
Ah yes. Welcome to the green side of the force!
While I like the color (my first full green non splash), I already subscribe to the purple side. My collection is modest, but it’s my main go to color whenever possible. I still wont choose purple unless it is the best/only available colorway though. Im not that devout ![]()
Beautiful collection! ![]()
Thanks! After this beautiful green I think I might eventually amass a few more greens as well though. I think maybe ILYY just nailed the color, but im liking it a lot. Im gonna cry when I get my first ding.
Purple and pink are my go to solid colors. They’re less plain than other colors without being over the top.
Yea I have some pink ones too, but I’m not really the kind of guy who rocks pink. I have full red, blue, and green (and purple ofc) yoyos and I’m liking the green as second to purple. Red yoyos are my least favorite by far I think.
That cadence is looking nice ![]()
I really like the looks of orange throws too…I only have a couple in my collection atm, but it’s a non-green colorway I’m happy to add.
Purple is a lovely color though. One of my favorite color combos (not just for yos) is purple/black.
You need that purple Batsquatch
Wow those look great!
Interested in hearing how they play!
They remind me of blueprint strings from back in the day. Most strings nowadays are really soft and plush, these are more coarse. Good choice if you’re into that feeling since there aren’t many strings nowadays that are like that.
He also sent me a soft string he was working on. Those reminded me of Twisted Strings. They have the slick stiff feeling of trilobal thread like markmonts but it isn’t super whippy like them. Still whippier than standard boutique polys like YYSL and zip line though. Also lasts noticeably longer. This is a great option for someone who likes the slick feeling and longevity of trilobal thread like markmonts without the overly whippy nature
(Sweats profusely) You all talking about them Blueprints?!?!
I think there’s a place for both strings. Honestly I was expecting another generic “boutique” soft poly like everybody else is making. But the standards definitely have a coarser feel, something you don’t see much nowadays.
And the soft version is basically a toned down Markmont string is the closest comparison I would say. You get similar longetivity and feel without the extreme whippiness many dislike about those types of strings
