The orange ProtoStar has a flat bearing jammed onto a pair of pretty beat spacers which come out of the bearing seats with little effort. I’d love to replace it but I’d have to find some other ProtoStar to sacrifice…

I hadn’t added to the collection in quite some time. Hadn’t been throwing due to, well…life. Finding the time again and adding some new throws. The last two months have been good! It’s incredible how well they throw. I think the CLYW Akita Scales edition is my current favorite. It finger grinds better than any YoYo I’ve ever thrown.

That TYY was the last one they made and it is from 2015. I’ve set a goal for myself to try every SPYY model that was made. I’ve thrown the vast majority of them as of now and I’ve only parted with 3 so far. This one had eluded me for quite a while.

You know what I’ve noticed? Stings with a higher twist helix seem to be better quality. It’s a way to immediately (although loosely) determine the quality of a string just by looking at it.
