Lol I didn’t! Just got back from a date with the missus and didn’t think of it. I suck.
Here is my advice to you: stop sucking and be awesome instead!
The idea of a yoyo club blows my mind.
So many forum-inappropriate jokes running through my head.
All I’ll say is that I will try and be better.
Mail day!
What a great start to the week.
One Drop VTWO, and accessories
-
Mail day photos below :
-
Strings to keep me going!
-
Set of OD flow groove pads & OD slim 19mm pads because practice must go on!
-
A new bearing to try, DS bearing
-
Keep this bearings smooth and quiet with some OD V4M lube
-
And finally, the yoyo itself, One Drop VTWO in brown!
-
Some comparison shots with the Dove.
Diameter seems almost identical, the VTWO is a hair larger, maybe about half a mm?
Width, VTWO is visibly narrower but not a huge amount, about 2mm?
Catch zone is a lot bigger for the VTWO though.
Thank you @AndreBoulay & @YoYoExpertGarrett!
Now I just need to work on getting better
Chocolatey!
Great unboxing photos!
Do things typically get to you so quickly from the USA? For some reason I thought it’d take a lot longer than it’s taken for these and your Vayder.
Also, that’s neat that you got a signature on your box! I have 5 or 6 and none of mine are signed! /jealous
Thanks Twitch and Adam!
Yeah 1 week is awesome!
I think UK ↔ USA normally takes about one week +/- a day
Oh so not all VTWO’s are signed? I was like cool! He must have taken a long time to sign all the boxes!
Anyone know what strings are shipped with OD yoyos?
Or what string this particular VTWO is shipped with?
Wait, are you saying the date went well?
I’m at work so only got to have two quick timid little throw (two throws because vTwo lol)
This is not what I expected at all not necessarily in a bad way, it’s just I never felt a yoyo like this before.
Maybe this is what modern competition style yoyos are like with the heavy rim weighting.
as soon as I threw the yoyo, it suddenly feels super heavy compared to in hand feel?
Like it’s a mini black hole, or a singularity if you will, as if it has its own gravitational center?
I also have a ThrowRevolution Neo on its way to me, which is a responsive delrin yoyo and I bought it with the intention to work on smoothing out my tricks and maintaining string tension throughout. This VTWO feels like it has built in string tension when I whip it round into a double or nothing, it’s as if it wants to keep moving in as large arc as possible keeping the string taut. Can’t quite explain in words it’s like it somehow has more MOI (moment of inertia) than a normal yoyo.
Doesn’t feel anything like any other yoyo’s I have tried before.
Can’t wait to get home to give it a proper go instead of just a timid double or nothing in the corner.
My package from the US was in my local post office in the 3rd day since usps got it(I’m from Spain)
They don’t really give much info about them on their site. Not having any luck with a google search either. You can buy the strings on One Drop’s website though.
Oh jeeze
Some yos take time to adjust to. I’m sure you know this though from when you were into the hobby in 2007’ish. Hopefully it’s one of those yos that will grow on you and once you’re use to how it plays you’ll start loving it.
I’m also glad you bought yourself a new bearing for it. My Legendary Terrarian and Kuntosh 5000QV were completely transformed (in good ways!) after swapping the flat bearings out for centering bearings. They make a HUGE difference for me!
Wow! That’s great!!
I’ve no experience with international shipping…but for some reason I thought shipping was really slow.
When I sent something to the USA(with the exact shipping method that coding horror used to send me the yoyos) it took like 2 weeks. I guess I had luck haha
That’s just how heavily rim weighted yo-yos feel. I’ve never thrown vTwo, but I suspect it’s not as overly rim weighted as many other yos. You’ll get used to it. Your throw will feel a bit less weird with that thick plutonium string you bought, with the extra mechanical advantage of the larger effective axle size the thicker string gives you—like a larger rear gear on a bicycle. Won’t make any difference with the feel on the string though.
Another odd difference is that this package from yoyoexpert.com which cost $150.61 had £4.53 customs tax applied ($6) and the Ti-Vayder which cost $153.30 (including delivery) had £31.91 customs tax applied ($42).
Not a complain, just an observation. So your customs tax might vary maybe depending on other variables like what shipping service is used etc? not sure what the variable would be but yeah.
Ah thanks guys!
Sorry I think I may have been misleading and unclear.
I don’t dislike the feeling. Also haven’t really given it a good throw yet.
The point I was trying to make is that it’s a sensation that I didn’t expect at all having never tried another yoyo quite like this. (I think the G&E4 Black Lily is a little like this)
Not a complaint at all, just I was stumped at how different a yoyo could feel!
Can’t wait to finish work and get back home to give it a proper try!
I think you should just call in sick.
For the rest of the week!
Absolutely. You have the yo-yo fever!
Haha, I am tempted
