Your not alone, I love my Skyvas too. I really enjoy the Metal Skyva too. All the fingerspin greatness with a nice grind finish to top it off.

I had a Skyva and lost it and I was impressed with it at the time. I also bought it because Jeff Pang made it and he was always super cool to everyone back on TheYo.
But that was my first new yo-yo in like 7 years or so and after acquiring some more modern stuff I can see that part of the reason I thought it was so good was I was comparing it to old standards.
So I understand why someone might not be as impressed with it.

Yea, it not being up to par with modern yoyos is the main reason. Otherwise it is completely serviceable.

The Skyva is an excellent yoyo. It performs really well too.

Been playing more with the 420 I got today, and after a little bit of, I am now realizing this thing makes binds feel amazing. Tricks work, but apparently binding on a large organic is just the best. Yoyo is aptly named

3/4% of my throwing has consisted of binds in the last couple of weeks. Especially laceration binds.

Got these two beauties. I find the AC2 to be a bit of a lump on the string, powerful but heavy. The Chief, well, all I can say is that the Chief is one of the greatest YoYos ever made.

Ahh, I wondered who bought these. They’re a good pair - I have the same Chief which I got from Charles Haycock. The copper speckle works well on the AC2.

Couldn’t resist picking them up, they look beautiful in person. Is copper speckle the name of the colour-way? I think the AC2 will take a while for me to get used to, much heavier than I’d like. In the hand, the profile feels a lot like a summit.

I like AC2’s, I’ve got a few including the 7075.
I’m not sure if that’s the legitimate name(!) I couldn’t find an entry on the CLYW colourway list that I cannot mention as it’s hosted on another store’s page.
