YYR Sleipnir, 2025 re-release of the OG 2009 version.
Sorta double posting since my original post wasn’t in the mail day thread, but I’ve never been so excited about a throw. So my bad if you’re seeing this twice.
#1 grail throw I’ve wanted to own for years, and YYR decides to randomly re-release them after 8-9 years and in the OG 2009 shape. So happy that they were raw/clear as well.
This thing is dead smooth… until the eventual dinging happens. Not even the slightest hint of fingernail vibe on either half. It’s so smooth with a NSK Plat bearing, I can barely hear or feel the spin that I bind early thinking it’s dying, only to have it rocket back into my hand.

Both great players and probably opposite ends of the spectrum?

Is the “-7+8” yoyo a vintage throw, or is it something currently being made/sold?
As far as I know, it’s old stock that has been recently painted then released but I could be wrong.
I saw that Tom Kuhn had wooden butterfly shaped yoyos for sale and jumped on it! I really like how it plays.

I just looked, and the -7+8 is the only wood model that’s sold out on Tom’s website. 
I know, I wish there were more options for the butterfly shaped from them.
If they fired up their various “making yoyos out of wood” machine I’m sure they’d sell really well.

Got my SUSKITA the other day, it’s definitely a banger. Plays quite a bit more aggressively than the previous Akita, is slightly sharper on the catch & noticeably more dense/heavy, but is a overall a killer addition to the CLYW comp throw lineup. Love the pin as well
Here’s a comparison to some other (blue) CLYW comp throws. OG Akita, new 2025 Akita & Klondike.

Klondike has been my favorite yoyo of all time since its release in 2023. However I gotta say the extra width on the new Akita is pretty nice. They all feel completely different, it just depends on what feel you’re after.
