I used to own that one. I’m the one that put that ding on there, smoothed it out with some sandpaper. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Saw #35 and I was like, yup. From what I remember, it didn’t even cause any vibe.

For future reference, if you take the back of a steel spoon, you can fold down the burrs and rub it with the steel to smooth it out without damaging any other areas of the finish.

That’s sort of what I did with this ding in my RBC, it was quite sharp and now is flat and smooth.

Doing this to my pano as soon as I get home, good tip!

I appreciate that. I am so hooked to hand and arm grinds and need the smoothest surface. I found an old video of it after the sandpapering lol.

Goodluck, feel free to reach out if you need any help.

I haven’t actually done it with a spoon. I did that repair while away with a small toolkit I carry. This metal prybar has a bit of a burr on the end and I initially used that to carefully grab and work down the ding burrs and then rubbed them with the flat side to smooth them out. You can barely feel where the ding was now. I was so thrilled with how it turned out!

I think a spoon would be perfect though. The steel is harder than the aluminum so it can act as a very fine grit with better precision than sandpaper. You may even need the edge too. Give it a go and get creative!
