Hey everyone. I normally lurk on these forums but I needed someone to share the absolutely insane score I got yesterday in a local marketplace find - a deadstock Tom Kuhn Flying Camel and a mint Walnut Diamond Special!
Here they are with the painted No Jive my dad gave me back in the 90s. Pretty hyped!
It took almost two months for them to arrive, but it was totally worth it!
I’ve been looking for B7 for about a year after trying it, and I’m especially glad I found the clear version. I try to stick with that color throughout the entire line. And another original Grail is always a pleasure.
Last post for a bit, but snagged my third G2 finally! Gonna hold out to find a G2 Druid before I get a 4th, unless the fomo gets the better of me again. lol
I am still so tempted to track down one of those 3 way yoyos. I’m just a sucker for stuff you can convert around, which is probably why I bought like 4 ProZ yoyos from Duncan to have at least 1 in each setup (the other donated it’s spacers to my Butterfly XT and had metal caps installed to be an insane little looper).
Honestly it’s been super hard to put down since getting. Has a lot of what I look for in a casual throw and there’s not a lot of other places exploring stuff like this anymore…
If I had to compare it to stuff, I would say that in the hand, it feels similar to a Dark Magic. On the string however, it feels more like my Spincel (much lighter as well than a DM ofc).
Regens, slow rpm’s, unstable (but in a good way) etc. it’s old school dimensions mixed with modernized guts. Highly recommend if you either love the OG stuff or just want something different
This is a handsome Holy Grail!
Next to it is a clear version of the regular Grail, as well as a golden Dale. I’d happily swap the gold versions for the regular ones so everything matches, but that’s a task for the future me
Pro Z was a fun one! Pretty sure I’ve still got one in a box somewhere but lost the “wing” spacers years ago.
A Fireball and the painted No Jive pretty much lived in my backpack back in the day! The No Jive has pretty much always been set up in Flying Camel style but it’s fun to switch it back to normal once in a while
Picked up a Koi at Rewind in Shibuya today. It’s fun. Always been curious about the Koi but never pulled the trigger on buying one. I’m not quite sure yet how to explain it. It feels like an organic that thinks it’s for competition if that makes any sense.
