It has a light to medium blast feel to it. < I’m not suggesting it is blasted at all. The previous statement was the sensation I I felt when I first took it out of the box and started ‘handling it’.
My impression is that the feel of the surface has nothing to even do with any sort of blasting and everything to do with this particular recipe of Cerakote application. I have not communicated with anybody at One Drop with questions about this finish. Just giving first impressions.
And… I was up until three in the morning throwing this top deck around, and when I finally decided to go to sleep, when I put the yo-yo down, I was still smiling. And this morning when I woke up, I was still smiling. So I guess I like the yo-yo and the finish, .At least that’s my second impression
If you don’t mind yo-yos that aren’t slippery smooth, you will like it just fine.
But…. If you don’t care for any yo-yo that has ‘that blast’ feel to it, you probably won’t care much for this one.
I, personally am not a big fan of yo-yos that feel blasted. But that being said, this particular finish is very interesting.
I think One Drop landed on a good thing when they decided to incorporate Cerakote as a yo-yo finish. It’s a definitely a departure from the Standard finishes on One Drops…
Note> it’s not anywhere as rough blasted as it looks. In the images it almost looks like a piece of sandpaper. It does ‘not at all’ feel the way it appears. Under the black light, it has a sort of 3D effect on the colorway, giving the finish more depth and making the finish look coarse…. It is not.
It actually feels like a very fine velvet and ‘Grinds’ very well indeed. And…. It doesn’t eat the string.
Actual coarse blast yo-yos have a tendency to gobble up strings.
Last one for a minute, but I was intrigued by the RCS Yonami Code as I’ve always liked the H. This one is pretty light, too, so it makes for a very interesting feel during play. I was going to pass on it, but between Simply Mike’s review and the story relating it to the Cheat Code…well, here we are.
Snagged this A-May-Zing Boost 3 for a steal. Loving this thing so far, and its wayyyy smoother than I anticipated given Ben described them as “pulse vibey” during the stream. Nice balance of power and maneuverability.
It spins longer than I expected. The binds are really snappy. I still need maybe another week before having a developed opinion as I just got it today but i think it’s great so far
What a sweet mail day, proud of our 5th release! Man, these turned out incredible keep an eye out here at yoyoexpert in the coming weeks if you didn’t get in on pre orders! Light organic power at its finest imbo
I got the MSG that’s on the far left, 2nd from the bottom in the mail. What a yoyo. It performs like it weighs 70g (which it does) as far as stability and momentum are concerned, but feels way more agile than that weight would suggest - it’s actually pretty bizarre. It’s a fast favorite and I can see it staying on my “ode to excellent design” shelf for a long time. Thanks, @Mhoodlum !
