What are you throwing today?

It looks like the pouch that came with my Recess Quiz. Maybe you got one from that?

I keep scrolling up to Look at that fat cat. That thing is sexy. How does it feel in your hand? The Fat Tire look similar to it.

It’s an adjustable gap responsive yoyo. I have it tuned to be as responsive as possible while still being able to sleep. That way, it plays exceptionally well for modern responsive tricks. I like it a lot and I’d say that it’s up there with the Weekender.

@DocPop I’m going to participate in some Icarus appreciation month. I’ve had this one since 2018 and it has been one I always try to recommend when someone is looking for a wide boi organic. Today its laced with some Markmont Formula 65 and I’ve been doing some Curling repeaters.

Welcome aboard. Brain Twister was my first “real” yoyo trick too. I recommend learning next: Split Bottom Mount, Barrel Rolls, Split the Atom, Mach 5. In that order. I never followed a trick ladder. The trick ladder is great because each trick is a building block but just find something that looks cool and go with it. I have a Windrunner too. Great yoyo!

Hotel Adder of course. I bought a 2nd Death Adder that has been waiting in my mailbox since Sunday and this trip just keeps on getting longer and longer. I’m super anxious to get back.

Do you usually just bring one yoyo with you when you travel? It must be comforting to have a yoyo when you’re away from home. But we’re ALL like that (I think). I remember being a kid and being allowed to bring one toy along in the car as my parents went on errands or roadtrips or we had to drive a distance to visit relatives. That ONE toy was so comforting to have. I think that is why I always bring a yoyo with me EVERYWHERE.

I have two yoyos with me on the road at all times. My Puff Adder is always in my bag for the hotel room and my Replay Pro stays in my truck to be played during the day if possible. The Puff Adder because it is such a good all rounder and the Replay because it’s good and easily replaceable. I would love to bring all my yoyos with me every week since I’m home for so little but I lose stuff constantly being in a different hotel every night. Also my truck and my belongings are searched and scanned regularly on higher profile jobs so it’s just easier and safer to only have the two with me. (I do alot of work at nuclear power plants, military bases, etc.)

I never thought of being comforted by always having a yoyo around but it makes sense. I definitely always had a toy in the car too. If nothing else, it helps me clear my mind and keeps me out of trouble. I haven’t been able to truly focus on learning any new tricks in a while and seem to be stuck in a loop of old tricks but I don’t feel like my day is complete until I throw for a little bit. Even just throwing long sleepers and lacerations over and over relieves stress for me.

Thanks for sharing that photo! I get this works great with Markmont’s string. Got a video of your Curling in action? I’d love to see how they look.
