i’ve had my eye on this since it came out! how is it?

I’ve seen it be compared to the grail quite often but since I’ve never thrown a grail I can’t speak to that.
I will say it’s very very good. Closest thing I can compare it to would be the butterball. It’s not as light or quick on the string as the butterball but it’s more stable and powerful. Super comfortable in the hand and the finish is very nice. Feels like it may be tumbled instead of blasted which I really like.
Between this and the BB I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like this more. I haven’t had it for a long time but it’s started to become something I pick up very often. I think once these are gone people are going to regret not getting one
Edit- now that I think about it maybe it’s better to compare it to the Life? I like the shape on this more though. Way better in the hand since it feels a bit wider. It’s a smidge lighter than the life as well

The branding I think hurts them a lot. It just kinda feels very low effort to me. Calling them unbranded, but “unbranded” is the brand itself to the extent that it’s engraved branding on the yoyo just kinda feels self contradictory.
That’s ignoring the actual designs though, but having some kind of unique or appealing brand identity imo is the biggest thing that separates any modern yoyo apart from the 10000 other modern yoyos that exist. Unbranded isn’t really bringing anything to the table other than just selling a played out idea in a way that feels kinda low effort.

I think, ironically, their “unbranded” brand falls into the trap that they set out to avoid.
I already associate “unbranded” with brands making the pitch that by removing “branding” they can cut a lot of unnecessary costs and deliver a premium quality materials and production at a lower price. That may be particular to my perspective, having seen “The Unbranded Brand” running this play in the premium Japanese workwear market, but this approach seems in line with generic goods, store brands etc., which generally pledge to cut prices by cutting marketing (and sometimes other “unnecessary” frills). #UNBRANDED prices are not at all low. In this way, their brand may be setting them up to attract and then put off customers expecting the typical anti-brand proposition.
According to their website, the problem they are solving is that that too much brand-based variety in the market is causing new buyers overwhelming confusion that drives them away from yo-yoing. Personally, the people behind designing and selling these yo-yos and their inspirations and motivations are what informs my purchases. #UNBRANDED takes the position that stripping all of that away and focusing on technical details makes yo-yo buying more accessible to the uninitiated.
Logically, I can see the argument. But IME, their target market is also price sensitive. They have a brand, and it is very technical-spec dense, but also pretty bare bones. The #UNBRANDED ROUND FULLSIZE is literally the same price as the Atmos Butterball. But Atmos has built for themselves a premium brand identity.
Atmos also provides detailed design notes. There is an argument that they are too subjective for certain customers, whereas enumerating technical details provides useful clarity. Is someone unfamiliar with the current yo-yo market better off poring over technical terms and specifications, or trusting an established brand with a lot of satisfied customers?

Also Summit, but 2! I’ll get an og summit eventually but I really don’t super need more yoyos right now lol. That’s why I haven’t tried to buy any of the drops I missed, if I can snag it great but if not I’m saving the money for next drop.
