I fear you should be a bit jealous, it’s truly a fantastic yoyo.
I am working on my own customization system to use instead of Side Effects, one that fits 5 mm posts (so A, D, and MR85 bearings) and I will be bringing the project back from the dead with those and an A bearing instead of a B. Still gonna call it That B.
I made 150 stickers before the project was shut down. So I’m considering what funny way I could still use the stickers. They are too glossy to sharpy. I might make little stickers for the empty space and add a second word below. But I don’t know what yet.
No even if I fixed the design to not require modified SEs they said they would never approve it. The issue is you have to raise the seat the SE sits on slightly to let the more narrow bearing fit and they won’t allow anyone to change any part of the SE seat. Apparently the ZGRT Janus is essentially grandfathered in but wouldn’t even be approved today.
They would still block the sale. They were extremely clear on multiple fronts. No editing the seat of the SE. never any bearing that isn’t a standard width C bearing. Not even half specs. I fear it was very explicitly killed.
I considered making some bootlegs but I figure fallout from the yoyo community could likely destroy me.
Figured the higher road would be making my own A/D/MR85 version and making it open source.
