I’m throwing a YoyoMonster Noah. It’s probably one of my all time favourite unresponsives.
What makes it so magical? The 20mm axle. It really affects play feel in a positive way.

I like big axles and I cannot lie. (Most of my bearing based builds use 20 or 25 mm axles)

Most will tell you that is doesn’t, and it just adds dead weight. I disagree. I think it gives the yoyo the right kind of solid feeling and increases its response and momentum.

I don’t like the 8mm long axles found in many yoyos today. Ick.

While I’m not a scientist I have vague opinions based on my observations.
Yo-yos usually being round means a fixed y and z axis, like if you have a 54 mm diameter then that’s your z and y. Everything else in a design is playing around with x axis weight distribution. Having a long rigid axle provides a stabilizer across that x axis right in the center of the bearing.

Longer axle is more center weight so yeah it changes the weight distro and how a yoyo feels. Longer axles are cool also bc theyre more durable like harder to strip. 20mm seems like hella long idk tho i wanna try that. Shorter is good for like small diameter yoyos maybe or hella light yoyos maybe when min/maxing weight distro is more important or the yoyo will suck at spinning
