That’s a darn good looking line up of yo-yos!
Throwing the trifecta. Some high level thoughts for those that were curious.
Ease of stalls: aluminum, polycarbonate, oak
Ease of flips: polycarbonate, aluminum, oak
Spin time: polycarbonate, aluminum, oak
Pull starts: polycarbonate, aluminum, oak
Included the best shot of the cups I could take. The polycarbonate cups are so much deeper and wider than the aluminum and oak and feel really nice on pullstarts.
The polycarbonate has a size similar to the wood and is somewhat heavier than the aluminum. The gap of the polycarbonate is also more open and butterfly adjacent than the aluminum or wood.
So the wood one is the crappiest. Great.
Performance isn’t the only thing I care about (disclaimer, I’ve never thrown one of your designs before)
To be fair, I’m still messing around with different strings and tension on the oak one. I suspect it’ll be the best at flips once I get it tuned up more based on its gap shape.
In all fairness Glen… you and @MarkD did work hard to make sure that both the aluminum and apparently the PC were both amazing hot rods.
You are the first person to recognise that Spinworthy had a hand in the PC one too. Thank you.
I’ve not been fortunate enough to throw either the wood or aluminum (yet), but you guys did an amazing job on the Plasm, I’ve absolutely loved throwing it so far.
We really did spend hours and hours discussing minute changes on it.
It was a really tough design to get right!
I thought it was common knowledge. Maybe not.
