No throwing today. Went down to the shop and was working through some wood billets.
I’m working with a new iron nitrate treatment on some figured maple…… and as of right now, I’m on the fence. What do you guys think? I’d like some input.

Love it. I used to have a shotgun with a figured maple stock stained with iron nitrate. Always got a lot of compliments on it. It’ll look a bit more even after finishing, and I’m a fan.

It’s not difficult to make. But it’s true you can buy it as well.
Depending on the wood you use it on, it can make some interesting contrasts in the figure of the wood.
