What are you throwing, 2022?

Hard agree on there not being enough love for the Borealis 2. Was my first CLYW and its one of my most powerful throws, even better its far and away the smoothest throw I own lol.

The Alpine and Borealis 2 I thought would play more similar than they do. The Alpine feels wider in the hand even though theyre the same width, I think that has to do with the subtle differences in the profile. The Alpine has the weight in the rim concentrated more on the inside, which makes it feel more balanced than the Borealis. The Borealis is a real powerhouse, that rim is deceptively massive and its mostly concentrated on the outside.

They’re different enough to where I love having both, and similar enough to feel the Borealis influence in the Alpine.

Excellent comparison and I find that I agree with pretty much all of that. Borealis 2 I feel is more “purposeful” if that makes sense where the Alpine is more casual and down for whatever.

It’s not even summer but two varieties of melons are already ripe, what?!

Flat cap SEeds and ultra-light SEeds

I LOVE mine, super powerful, stable, and smooth. Also, I think the 21mm pads CLYW use are superior to 19mm slim pads, and binds are super tight.

Isn’t prestige so good? I think possibly the best feeling string out right now, along with kot-n

What do you mean upcycled?

These were Sonny’s rejects due to a gap machining issue from 2008, so they sat in a box in his garage for years. Then he gave them to a few people to “do something cool with them”. This one came from @tylerseverance of Recess and he called them Upcyled as he took the raws and did a few different releases of different finishes and added spacers to correct the gap. Plays great by the way :+1:

I’ve never heard of “Golden Mowl” Kitty Fat string. Is that a specialty string color or something?

Mowl collaborated with Kitty String to create their own strings called Mowl Strings. As far as I know, they can only be bought directly from Mowl’s website and they cost almost as much as the Kitty Signature Strings, being only $1 less.

The available colours are black, Mowl green (a really dark and dirty green), yellow and gold.
Regarding their performance and value for money, I can’t comment, but maybe @Exmime can give us his opinion.

Its a new Kitty blend made for Mowl, currenty only available as an import from Mowl directly. Hopefully they’ll be available state side here at YYE @YoYoExpertGarrett soon.

I just love that string color.

These are great strings. They are a tad softer than the 1st Class Kitty Fat.

I’ve been so tempted to pick up some of this since I love the color, but after international shipping prices I just can’t justify it unless I’d buy a yoyo or something at the same time.
