I’ve tried a few GITD strings, and they’re incredibly rough. Like sandpaper in string form. I think it’s similar to 3D printer filament, where the particles that make it glow also make it highly abrasive, to the point that it wears through the PTFE guide tubes and steel nozzles. Would be super cool if you find something that’s not like that though.

They do tend to be a bit rougher, but this would be a single strand in the overall string, so I’m not too worried.

It is very abrasive haha. Between all the metal I was printing for the waffle stomper and glow I was even burning through a hardened steel nozzle so I invested in a diamondback (solid diamond tip) nozzle.

Ooooh, nice! I’ve looked at diamond and ruby tipped nozzles, but have just been replacing the hardened steel ones periodically as they start to wear. Same with all the PTFE tubes. I do need to replace all the PTFE tubing in my AMS and printer soon though, I’ve started getting occasional feed errors, which is usually a sign that a guide tube is worn through or nearly worn through somewhere.

Magic YoYo makes a few glow in the dark, as well as twisted string, but I’m HYPED for throwyo glow string!!!

Yeah because the tip doesn’t wear down I’m getting incredibly clean prints, even better than the first two runs I did, plus I was able to move down to 0.4 mm printing metal instead of 0.6 mm.

I bought some of that magic Yoyo string yo try out in a waffle stomper and it was turning it unresponsive lol. I don’t know why something about the string. It made the response so bad.

Took me a solid week to dial in this white TPU rubber but I have finally achieved 90s white dog poo counterweights for the Barium Smoothie colorway. I have to print them one at a time, no batches, so it’ll be a little slower to make at scale haha.

I’m finally catching up on strings for the Barium Smoothie edition of the Waffle Stomper. I’ve decided since the barium goes in one way for the colorway, it should go it the OTHER way for the string. Hence, the new strings will be called Barium Enema.

Edit: Also found that a wide MR85, tighten (but not overtightened cuz it’s not healthy on the waffles), with thick lube and a fat string is perfection

Hooray! Nobody missing strings DMed me so I’m probably going to be doing a best guess what color I sent folks and sending them the string in their swag pack that way. We will see how good my memory is! (It’s not great)

lol i wouldn’t even know to be honest. String goes in string box or in a yoyo and gets played. Hsvent thr slightest clue what all I have on hand at any given time of what I hit after a week

Oh yeah so here is the deal! I have zero self control. I mailed out a lot of Waffle Stompers before Berv had the special strings ready.
So I’m going to make swag packs for everyone, with the special string, a hex key in case you need to take it apart, a 4mm wide bearing in case your seat gets damaged, probably some stickers and whatever. But I don’t know which strings to send to which people because I’m a heated mess and did not track which colors went to who and who got a special string and who didn’t. So if all you received was 1) kitty fat or 2) yoyo string lab plutonium (sent with all glow in the darks) then please dm me with the color you received so I can send you a matching string!
