W1LD New Year Lucky Box

Anyone else get the W1LD lucky box? Mine arrived yesterday so I’ve been giving them all a go this weekend.

From right to left: Shutsujin, Milder, Wilder, new inner ring double rim bimetal, Wildless 2 and Adrenaline SS.

My first impressions of the new releases are the Wildless 2 is absolutely killer. Seems to have the same dimensions as the Wilder. The double rim bimetal has a medium pacing and weight to it. The Adrenaline SS is still very agile and feels on the lighter side, though a bit more solid than the regular Adrenaline.

If anyone else sprang for the lucky box, I’m curious to see what other yo-yos people got. I’ve heard the upcoming Model R might be included in some boxes.

How’s the adrenaline ss? I have the tri material version and it’s pretty good for me

My expanded first thoughts on it are that it feels quite a bit smaller than the regular Adrenaline (mainly due to its shrunk diameter, the width is about my personal sweet spot and still feels plenty wide). It’s very agile and quick, I’d say faster than the regular Adrenaline.

As I said before, weight wise it feels marginally on the lighter side but compared to the Adrenaline it has a bit more of a solid presence on the string (Adrenaline I would describe as being very flowy without a distinct solidity for comparison). Spin and stability have taken a bit of a hit compared to regular Adrenaline naturally as a result of the smaller diameter/monometal design/higher centre weight due to its steel body. That said, the spin might be getting affected by pads as I’ve found it to be rather snaggy (the pads originally were protruding into the gap before I replaced them and I think the replacements need a bit of breaking in).

I got a W1LD Trio instead of the Wilder but otherwise the same as yours.

Wondering if you have any QC issues? Debating if it’s worth contacting them about this machining mark in the hub of the Adrenaline SS. The cups of my Unbound have some scuffs in the ano too which sucks a bit (also why is the 4a version called Bound??). Feels hard to complain considering the total price of these yoyos if you were to buy them separately…

The left one on the bottom look similar to a yo-yo I designed a while back:

Interesting to see it in real life.

how does the wildless 2 compare to the original?

Get an Ultracut imo

already got one lol

I think the Wildless 2 is decent but needs some more rim weight or a larger diameter to give it a bit more power. It’s really apparent playing it right next to the other yoyos from the box.

I hadn’t noticed anything but have given them all a look over now and the Milder does have a spot near the rim. That’s it for what I can notice though. I will say that I had issues with the bearings in 3 of the needing to be cleaned and had to replace one of the pads in the Adrenaline since it was protruding.

Still though, I’m very happy with them. Now that I’ve replaced the bearing in the Milder, it’s greatly increased my enjoyment of it. The width plus it’s more medium pace/weighting contrast quite nicely with the Wild Dino which feels a bit lighter.

Not played the original, though I do agree with Tempura that it’s a bit lacking in spin time. I still find it to be a very fun casual throw though all the same.

I really enjoy them play wise, especially the Milder and Adrenaline SS. Some of the other boxes like from Mowl and Rewind mentioned the yoyos possibly having imperfections, but this one didn’t, so I was thinking it was potentially missed in the translation.
