Nice! That was an insta 2-or-0 stall, right?

I get confused with some of the naming, either that or houdini stall? Like a double or nothing but over the thumb.

@SkillfullyUnskilled way to go, now Lydia is gonna mystic it from there lol

Y’all gonna make me jump in and get out of that Houdini before she sees this, I just gotta learn how to snap start

That was literally my first thought.

You know in retrospect I don’t think I added on enough…

Want the zine in there and just land the zine on trapeze stall and take from there?

Nah. I’ll do it the same way @SkillfullyUnskilled did. Rules is rules.

I’m about to get off work, I’ll check here frequently in between learning snap starts lol

Snap start is honestly mostly just building the strength.

Fwiw, personally, Snap Starts are about function over form. Idk how much a trick is allowed to change before it’s called something else, but my hands aren’t dexterous enough to pull it off like in the video Keith shared, but using my arm and wrist, I can emulate that “snap” which results with me having a previously completely unfurled throw ending up as completely wound

Idk if anything I said helps with this KotH challenge, but if your sole goal is to quickly wind up (but not necessarily look fantastic doing it), there’s ways to emulate or “brute force” it.

In my mind, Snap Start isn’t really a trick you use on purpose (unless you’re doing something like this), so I treat this trick as more of a tool with flair to get me back to doing/learning tricks I want to learn quicker

There are plenty of other fun ways to wind. Snap start is my most used, but I also love engineer starts.

I absolutely do use snap starts on purpose and if I was pressed to do a freestyle I would probably kick it off with snap start to trapeze stall (I call this snap-to-trap)

If you want to participate in this round, just show off the start and I’ll make a ruling. I want this to be fun and inclusive but also challenging and I felt this fit the bill.

“fun and inclusive” - proceeds to making me kickflip after all this lol

Both statements are true for me as well.

Despite what I said, I do agree snap starts can be used purposefully. I personally don’t use them as such. But I’m not artistic enough to do any sort of freestyle, much less have any flow. I’m a one-trick-at-a-time pony. My head would explode before I could even think of stringing :drum: two tricks together.

I’d love to join, but I’m (recording) camera shy, my aforementioned inability to freestyle, and am terrible at competitions. I’m happy lurking and being envious of everyone who participates having even a modicum of ability more than me to string tricks together, one after another

My yoyo on my walks with dogs: YOU GET ONE KICKFLIP PER DAY

Proceeds to do one (1) kickflip and gearing up to attempt a second time: YOU HAVE USED YOUR ALLOTTED [1/1] KICKFLIP. Enjoy not being able to pull it off again for the rest of the day

Need help

Besides accidently doing brother instead of Houdini stall, and obviously missing the kickflip, am I doing this right?
