I broke it down step by step, or I guess you could say I dumbed the trick down. I guess I would recommend you using the smallest yoyo you have, and then starting really small like in my video by just dropping it, and then increase the distance you drop it/toss it. I’m not great at it, but I’m practicing the motion and it’s nice to get repetitions in so I can get more sendy with it.
Josh broke it down really well so I’ve just got another angle + slomo here. I still hit my thumb sometimes
also using a shorter string helps make it feel like you’re just dropping it into the chopsticks
Shorter string for sure, that’s a good idea.
TAW 2026 Week 10 - Magic Drop
This is a fun one, I need to get it going a bit faster…
Josh, Ben, thanks! I’m trying a smaller yoyo (it’s not my fault my Gumball came in the mail just as you all posted this trick lol), and also, just dropping it, it kind of feels as though the knuckle that’s in the rejection line can kind of “push” the string in if I line things up just right.
#9 and 10…need to work on this magic dunk. Very cool element.
Week 11: Rejection Wrist Whips
Got two similar rejection + whip tricks here, have a go at either/both this week. Despite the video names they are not easy, so don’t get discouraged!
Throwhand wrist whip:
Nonthrowhand wrist whip:
This one iscool bc you can do it 3A
TaW 2026 Week 11 - Rejection Wrist Whip(s)
The NTH whip is still eluding me, I guess 1 out of 2 ain’t bad…
