Hehe lol thank you
Hehe lol thank you
@GTDropKnot @Vektor Is this close to being correct?
Yes the slack is correct. One way to check is to mount the yoyo like double or nothing. You should be in an “under or nothing” not the traditional DoN mount if done properly. Now you just need to work on the chop element. I would recommend trying to pop the yoyo up more. That will give you time to perform that move. Focusing on chopping lower and not chasing the yoyo may halp as well.
Thank you!
Week 31 — Ari Kim-Ramirez’s Whip Combo
After last week’s trick I couldn’t resist doing another sequence from this year’s US nationals that starts with a similar sequence, but is a bit harder. Felt like a good way to build on what folks did last week.
I changed the triangle reveal end part to open string rolls
It’s my cake day! I haven’t been posting much but I have still been throwing every day. I am getting better!
Life is hectic (divorce sucks) but I really appreciate this thread. Whenever I want to learn a new trick, I always just come to this terrific curated list.
Thanks all. Love you.
Sorry to hear about your divorce, hang in there!
Yeah and happy cake day yo!
#31 Whip Combo. Not used to playing the Markmont strings so forgive the missed binds
Yoyo: OD Sugar Glider
Week 32: Zhou Bowen Chopsticks Slack
Yo I’m helping out with running the thread for a bit and chose this trick. I like the flow and this cool Janos -esque thumb slack. The trick is easier than the past couple imo so please don’t get intimidated by the words “chopsticks” or “slack” and give it a try! Let us know if yall have any questions!
Here’s the trick with some autopilot stuff at the end for fun and practice.
This is a trick by Jason Lee. It’s called “And what” (not whUt). According to Jason. In these pretty old videos, he does something similar.
I don’t know what Andre’s tricks look like, because I don’t know any tricks that Andre has come up with, but this trick is clearly very Jason Lee or Paul Escolar style.
Yes, I responded very quickly😁
Anyone got any tips for the slack/whip part? I try to create tension but all it does is form a noose around my thumb… my frustration level with slacks/whips is reaching the boiling point this month
Okay so make sure you got the nth index over the string like this an do a little pinch there. Having some tension does help but isn’t really necessary for this one like the main action to get the slack to go is from turning over the hand. Let me know if you’re still struggling after trying this.
So it’s more of a flip than a rejection?
Yeah I would describe it as a pinch slack and it’s not a rejection bc youre not using the spin of the yoyo to pop the string off.
Gotcha… I meant like a tension slack thingy, not rejection, so I’m like strangling my thumb trying to use tension to swing the slack around. Thanks for the help
Ooo ok yeah so having some tension does help move the slack, but definitely isn’t necessary. I would try to get it down like i show in the vid where i release, and then turn over for the slack. Then put the drop and turn over together into one motion and that might help. Play with the proportions a bit also and maybe you find something that works for you bc proportions do matter for this one like if the slack is too big, it can hit th.
I’m starting to get it now, I thought it was all tension-driven… thanks again!
