Had to watch that a few times, Andy; I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don’t think that qualifies as a Kwyjibo. The part where you cross your arms is supposed to be a pop straight up out of trapeze, then you intercept the string segment and land the yoyo before flipping it around.
On the plus side, your movements are really smooth. Even though I think my Kwyjibo is more “canonical”, it looks a bit deliberate and awkward… if you ask me, you have more going for your technique than I do.
Well, a lot of people just pop it up to the side diagonally then thread the string under the yoyo real quiickly, then flip instead of popping it straight up then catching the yoyo on the string then flipping it, thats why when u watch kwyjibos it doesnt look like they popped it straight up… Im pretty sure thats what andre and a lot of others do… I could be wrong, but i dont think so… Idk
It should still be a relatively straight pop in the air (of course few people will get it 90 degrees, and nor should you be obsessed with that), but when you’re smooth and skilled (ie. not me) you bring the yoyo down and around AFTER it lands on the string. Canonically, it shouldn’t be popped too far to the side.
I think Miguel Correa does my ideal Kwyjibo, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way. I tend to agree with him that it’s a trick about straight pops, and without the straight pops it looks half complete.
Landed horizontal breakaway hop to fingerspin on the Lesula. Have to admit, I didn’t bind it back from the fingerspin (even though I can do that after matador) but put it back on vertical axis for a normal bind.
That was pretty cool, though.
groan: nicely done! You can do a gyroscopic flop or bind from the plastic whip, too. For bind, do a forward pass-like motion, and let the loop come off your thumb. Depending on how tight your binds are (different yoyos and different strings make drastically different levels of responsiveness!) you may have to throw pretty much straight out or you may barely need to swing it in front of you and just drop the loop.
Theres a bunch of ways to do green triangle! The easiest way is to do a trapeze and his brother, but instead of landing around TH index land around ur wrist, then slip the string of ur hand and green triangle! Pop out from the back. Its fairly simple if u can do trapeze and his brother
That’s the way I’ve been doing it all evening
I’m trying to start a combo with sideways plastic whip to trapeze style green triangle, dismount to trapeze and then whip into the air to bind backwards. Almost got it too. I’ll video it when I can do it consistently
