The "I Finally Landed It!" Thread

Red Clover by Paul Escolar found below

Landed Canadian Bacon. Not very hard but I was not following the directions.
Wrist whip is hard to get consecutively. Good luck:)

Accidental Brent Stole. I was trying to get Hidemasa Hook…

Finally mastered Split the Atom  can do it so many times without failing! Just need to get my yoyo to come back up to my hand before it spins out!

I remember how amazing it felt when I first mastered that trick. Good job:)

Shockwave.

Magic drop is a pain but after a few handy tips its so much easier. Right, off to learn Kamikaze next!

Just got RIB Stole down thanks to RobinHood’s tutorial

It’s always some little aspect to a trick I get hung up on and don’t follow correctly. In this case it was the last part just before landing in trapeze: only swing through the triangle 1x, not 2x like I was doing at first. Now to make it smooth…

Candy Slack:D Now I have to get it smoothly. Thank you for the tutorial Formula.

And here I always thought  Paul looked like his avatar for Twitter or any other site…XD

Landed yet another magically delicious Horizontal stack Comb…Dunno why  I’m calling it the Wombo COmbo…cause I can…XD

Coming up on 3 years of yoyoing and I finally hit my face.

I had just landed some consecutive lasso GTs in a combo that I had been working on so my confidence was soaring. A bruised lip is all the damage, but I honestly thought I was going to get away with it. That’s what happens when I get a bit too comfortable while being creative.

Thanks to yoMartyo for the lasso GT tut.

Woot! Absolutely rock-solid matador for the past few days was spoiled only by lame returns to vertical (necessary if you’re moving on to other tricks, but if you’re ending or ONLY doing matador… weak sauce). Today, brilliant matador followed by horizontal bind back to hand!

Still need to work on a whipping bind, but this one was neat, too: lift the string above the yoyo so that it basically does a sidewinder… and upwinder, I guess! This tightens the loop around the axle a bit. Let the string go a bit slack until it starts going around the axle. Let more slack go into the gap and soon enough it will grab the response and bind.

Pretty flashy-looking, even though it doesn’t strictly have a lot of “substance” (and your string tension is murdered afterwards).

I hit my eye the other day and got a black nasty one. I made thread in the exhibition forum called “yoyo brutality” you should check it out

Fluked out on that matador to fingerspin bind. Twice so far, but flukes nonetheless. I don’t know the accepted technique to bind back from a fingerspin.

Landed a chopsticks suicide-I doubt that will ever happen again

I’m an older newbie- but this week I’ve finally nailed double or nothing, trapeze and his bro, and barrel rolls. Working on split the atom now. They may be lower grade tricks, but happy to be getting beyond elevator and scrambler.

Awesome! I remember only a few months ago nailing down Split the Atom and doing that trick everywhere. Then I learned Matrix and was doing that trick everywhere. Then I learned Kwyjibo and… well, you get the picture.

It won’t be long before you’ve got Split the Atom and are telling us about your Triple Brent Stole.

Kwyjibo finally the second part clicked.

Thx for the support! I hit a plateau for a bit, feels good to get by it.
