Steel Pot by YJYOYO! - Compact Powerful Bi-Metal!

Introducing the Steel Pot by YJYOYO—a compact yet powerful bimetal yo-yo designed for precision and performance!

With stainless steel rims making up nearly 80% of its weight, the Steel Pot delivers a massive rotational force that feels like a jet turbine on the string. Though small in diameter, its 46mm width makes it ideal for chopstick tricks and perfect for players with smaller hands. Featuring YJYOYO’s unique “Tilt Pad System,” it ensures smooth, controlled play without unexpected binds, while still offering reliable returns when needed. Pair it with a thicker string for optimal performance!

Looks like somebody put a Draupnir in a trash compactor, lol…

I love the name…

Okay I’ll ask, what is the “Tilt Pad System”? I’m guessing the floor of the pad well is tapered away from the center?

The Radiance description has more detail:

“. . . the “Tilt Pad System” ensures optimal performance. The pad area adjacent to the bearing features the narrowest gap width, gradually widening towards the edges. This innovative design accommodates thicker strings, commonly used today, while minimizing the risk of unexpected returns during rapid play or intricate maneuvers. The Radiance yoyo responds securely, binding only when intended”.

Also it makes the pads consume “properly”, usually pads consume from the centre to the outside, with this system you basically use all the surface of the pad at the same time. I heard that honestly, play wise it doesn’t really change much also in feeling.
Is probably useful just to consume the pads in the same way all over the surface

It’s cool that YJyoyo is trying to innovate with the aspects of yoyo design that most designers don’t usually touch like the response. I was stoked to see them try out some new ideas with the paranoia looper also because I felt like looping yoyos were already fully explored in terms of design but they proved me wrong.
