If you buy some concert tickets, then months later decide you can’t make it, and sell them for a profit, because they’re now in high demand then that’s fair.
If you buy some concert tickets specifically so that you can resell them at a profit, and do so as soon as possible then that’s unfair. It’s scalping. It’s legal, it’s allowed, but it sucks.
Obviously rare stuff goes up in price - MFD, CLYW, etc - but there’s nothing wrong with selling something for market value some time down the line.
I think the term is “flipper” in other collecting realms and it’s looked at with varying levels of disdain relative to the amount of price gouging happening with the item in question. Luckily, in the case of yoyos, there is a pretty much unlimited supply and though there might be rarity in a particular design or color, no one needs any of it.
