I’m in a Calculus class and heard that torrenting the book was an option. What does that mean? how do I do it? and isn’t it illegal?
Uh, 10 views and no responses… Really?
Patience young one, it’s only been 40 minutes.
Torrenting would be illegally downloading it from a host site. So yes, it is illegal
Not all torrent sites are illegal.
Yeah, not all torrent sites are illegal, just the content that people put up on it for torrenting. Sites can’t really control what people upload onto their sites without a lot of hassle. Torrenting itself is a controversial issue, due to the files that can be torrented, can be either illegal or legal, due to certain laws like copyright infringement. Torrenting requires a program (ie, utorrent, bitcomet, limewire (cancelled), etc) which there are plenty out there, and a general site know to offer torrents (demonoid, torrentree; Just a few I use that I can trust). College books I’m assuming would be illegal because they usually sell for profit. The question of legality issues depends on what your trying to torrent in general.
on side note… if anyone wants a code for demonoid, I could hook you up with one. Just message me.
Torrenting is basically downloading something from other people who have the same file. The act of torrenting is legal, but what makes it illegal depends on the content that is download.
