How da heck does everyone keep cutting these foams so easily?
I have a foam cutter that uses a thin metal wire that gets super hot. It’s actually a pain in the butt and takes me a couple hours to do one of these cases

That makes my lazy bones not want to do these
Cookie cutter piece of wood and a rubber mallet.
Place foam on hard surface, place cutter on where you want your dinosaur shaped hole to be, place wood on top of the cutter, bash with mallet, but not so wildly that you destroy your cutter.
I guess if you wanna get fancy you can heat it up on a burner, but be careful.
Edit, months of experimentation later:
None of this worked, sharpened tomato paste can is the way.
That works for throws, but what if I want irregular sizes, like when I attempted a travel kit for my Steam Deck?
A really really big cookie cutter
Or just keep cutting with the dinosaur until the hole is big enough…
Whoa
Back when I made my cases I used sandpaper to sharpen the edge of a tomato paste can. Worked really well but I had to re-sharpen a couple of times. Who knew foam could dull steel lol.
Just buy the g2 FOV Max instead. Thay are gorgeous, and no work. I started buying them instead. I have 2 empty yellow ones now(maybe 3) that are cut out, one black one thats cut out and a brand new in box black one(they were out of yellow). The black ones ended up being like 1/2 inch larger, so they dont stack perfectly with the yellow. They stack, just not perfectly. I cut them out to fit 2 layers of 24 throws, so 48 total per case…
