hi! i’m dale tubat, a yoyo designer known for capsule and stupidwide.
my two latest models, RIVAL and stack, have just released.
RIVAL is a competition oriented design hallmarking countless iterations and prototypes in search for the best playing 3d printed yoyo. i truly think you’ll be impressed with how well this performs, as it’s caught the attention of many high-level competitors. you can see it in action on my instagram here.
The rival is really good. I got to try one at cal states. Definitely one of the best 3D printed yo-yos I have tried. The weight distribution and performance are there for sure
I am loving your designs. I saw an ig story of yours with a yoyo where the rim and walls were soft enough to flex and bend. Do you have any plans to bring that one to production?
I love to play 3A but it is hard for me to play around my family bc the clank clank gets annoying. I have a pair of Newts and they are good for sure, but the design could be improved like they need more power (some combo of heavier weight/ rim weight distro/ larger diameter and they would be prefect). I’m fiending for more yoyos that would be good to play around my family like no clank when I mess up and the yoyos collide. It blows my mind that there is only the one option for that niche and I was super excited to see your floppy yoyo. Good luck w everything yo
Can also confirm they don’t get stuck. I had a Stack come in today and it’s not only crazy fun and looks awesome (about as nostalgic as you can get, haha), but I was specifically trying to get the string to catch on the steps, and could not make it happen once.
Also, the combo between the finish and the dimple design make it an IMPRESSIVELY long fingerspinner, not just for a 3D print either, that’s in general, haha. Can even pull-start it! It definitely holds its own.
Probably should have gotten the stand to go with it, but I was short on funds.
Awesome stuff @daletubat!
