Qualia starts from an idea that’s hard to put into words: certain experiences can’t be described, only felt. Sputnik, the independent boutique yo-yo brand, built it as an unresponsive 1A competition yo-yo from high-strength 7075 aluminum, designed in collaboration with music producer Quok.
Qualia takes its inspiration from the classic competitive yo-yos that shaped an entire generation of players, and brings that distinctive feeling into a modern design. A slightly increased width makes it more familiar to today’s players, while the fast, agile, highly maneuverable nature of those older designs stays intact. The focus is on character and the connection between player and yo-yo, exploring what makes certain throws memorable long after their specs are forgotten.
