So I’ve been plugging away at unresponsive 1A play for about two months now, and here is the combo routine I’ve been practicing lately:
As I watch myself on video I notice a couple of things:
The VTWO looks bigger in the video than it does to me in person.
The motion of the yoyo looks a lot slower on playback. While performing the tricks, it seems to me like the yoyo is moving a lot faster than it (apparently) actually is.
The focus and concentration needed to pull this off is clearly evident on my face. This is why I describe yoyoing as (mentally) stressful. I’m just not Zen Like Chad.
That literally put a big smile on my face! Great job, man. I’m proud of you. No joke. It looked great. I admire your advancement. Definitely inspiring to me. Non-throwers can never realize how much work and time went into that 17 seconds.
Do bear in mind that it took, like, twenty tries before I got through it without any mistakes. Consistency is definitely not my strong suit, though some of the inconsistency in this case stemmed from being nervous in front of the camera. In any event, my accuracy and control need a lot of work.
I suspect it is an angle of view + motion blur phenomenon. The yoyo looks its largest when it is at a bit of an angle and you’re see the back half of the yoyo peeking out from behind, making the overall shape look larger when viewed as a flat, blurry thing in motion.
