I’ve got a prototype of my Queen Bee to get out into the world! Two, actually, but one has been buzzing about for a while already. This thread is to make the PiF a bit more formal and to get the second unit out into the world. She’s been in a box for 6 months waiting to fly but I’ve been a bit busy lately.
To recap some details for people who haven’t seen the main thread, this is a modern, titanium take on the old Turbo Bumblebee GT made in CA by me! It’s a pretty close size match, but it’s a bit heavier and rides the line between responsive and unresponsive. It plays nice and stable and is quite fun to toss around!
Material: 6Al4V Titanium (Grade 5)
Diameter: 2.24in/56.9mm
Width: 1.375in/34.9mm
Gap: 0.100in/2.54mm
Mass: ~58-60g
Bearing: NSK MR105 5x10x4mm (Flat Size A)
Response: Cork Brake Pad
Lube the bearing and have some fun with an old school design or keep it clean and play on the string, it’s up to you.
As stated, I’m looking to start a proper list for these girls, so go ahead and get me a feedback thread or get me a recommendation by someone trustworthy. I’ll check around and we can get things going.

No destructive testing. Things get dinged, stuff hits walls, yoyos get knocked off tables. Despite the incredibly thin wall of the hub area, they’re pretty strong. These are more than durable enough to stand up to daily carry and the occasional whoopsie. The one I’ve had in my pocket every day for a year has been dropped, sat on, thrown against walls, dinged into the floor, and plenty of other mishaps, but don’t go out of your way to test durability. Please avoid intentional sparking and other damage where possible

No private forwarding. Don’t decide where it goes through DM’s please. I’d prefer the wait list to be arranged and facilitated in this thread so I can keep track of things.

Respect the box. Feel free to add things to share with the people ahead of you, use your best judgement to keep a couple things, but don’t just ransack it before sending it on. I’d like both bearings to stay with it, at the very least.

Don’t waste the pads. I’ve got a ton of spares, so I’m more than happy to send more to wherever the Queen is on request, but 5 pairs should last a while

There were a few people who expressed interest in the first PiF unit that I don’t believe got a chance at it. Hopefully I ping everyone who had mentioned it? If you’re still interested, let me know
