Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words!
Rest assured, as soon as this trade tariff mess settles down, automated US shipping will be right back up and running.
I am very sad to be in the position of having access to these. These are beautiful and fun to play, a shame really I wish everyone could have access to these string.
As always I am a big fan of yours Lynx ![]()
Bump
I’ve been using a single strand silky for weeks now, really the only thing I can fault it at is that it’s a bit rougher than Zs.Air (but much softer than any bulk poly which used to literally cause my skin to crack over time). The string still looks absolutely brand new, handmade nylon strings all last extremely long, but my other strings would certainly be showing some fraying at the loop around the bearing by now.
My first impressions were that I didn’t like the way the string held tension, but luckily that improved a lot as I continued to play with the string, so be aware that there is a break in period and it’s absolutely worth being patient.
Performance wise it’s been my absolute favourite, whips and hooks are just a bit more controllable for me than with Zs.Air which I find just a touch fast.
Also for anyone on the fence… an underrated benefit of long lasting strings like these that I’ve noticed is that I am not cleaning my bearings as often, I guess because of fewer particles of string fraying off and making their way into my bearings.
Good point. I never really took note of that because it’s like the difference between ‘very little friction’ and ‘barely any friction’.
The woolly ones get that more quickly but they still last very well.
I once received a yo-yo with a bearing that was not spinning very well, so I opened up the bearing shield and found polyester threads wrapped around inside the bearing like fairy floss. Having to clean my bearings less is actually the primary reason that I don’t use bulk poly with non-sealed bearings anymore. For my Ultra State and edITION it’s fine, but my 1A players get nice lush handmade nylon strings. ![]()
I have dry and sensitive skin so the softness is noticeable for me. I’ve had to take play breaks with poly because it can start cracking the skin on my fingers.

I have the good stuff, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The other thing is that you can’t yoyo with creamy hands ![]()
I’ve been like uncertain i have the stripes to review a string well tbh but i agree with this wholeheartedly
Yeah, I was gonna bring that up. Blech!
