The One Drop Artifact is honestly one of the coolest blends of old-school feel and modern performance I’ve tried in a while.
It has that sharp V-shape that fans of classic Japanese throws will instantly recognize, but it’s tuned up with 7075 aluminum and a really clever weight distribution that makes it super stable and clean on the string.
The D-size bearing gives it this tight, torque-heavy feel that just begs for precise, technical play, and it still binds smoothly even at lower RPMs, which is super satisfying.
It’s not oversized or clunky; in fact, it’s kind of the perfect mid size that makes it easy to control. It’s also rather comfortable to hold in the hand.
Horizontals? Totally doable: it holds its plane way better than you’d expect for something this size and shape.
And as always, One Drop absolutely delivers on build quality: the finish is flawless and you can just feel the attention to detail despite the fact that there were some visible machining marks on mine.
I went with the Obsidian colour for mine because it just looked too stylish to pass up, and honestly, I haven’t regretted it one bit. At this point, it’s probably one of my favorite yoyos in my collection, super fun to throw, looks great, and just feels right.
