Okay so I made this quick video as soon after I opened the gambits and put them together. Don’t mind my voice on camera it sounds weird.
I’m very very pleased with how these came out and I am considering opening a kickstarter project to try and make a run of these. They are truly amazing. I am trying to be humble but I’m just so impressed with these that I wish I could keep them all. They come out exactly how I wanted them too and even exceeded my expectations. It’s surreal to have in your hand a tangible piece of metal you designed every line for. Making a yoyo has been a goal of mine since I started and this moment is something I’ll cherish forever. I’m so humbled and grateful for everyone who has bought one already and are in line to buy one. You are all going to love it! I promise you will.
I will be putting up some good pictures tomorrow so you can see the profile and a bunch of other angles. I also do a few comparison shots with a couple other popular yoyos. I’m very excited for these to get in the hands of people and hopefully hear some reviews. If these get good feedback I would love to make a small run of these but being a college student money is hard to find. I’ll start a kickstart soon if I get enough interest and support.
The only one available is the blasted silver for $105 shipped. This is a 1 of 7 yoyo with a 1 of 1 colorway. It’s high quality and a pretty awesome yoyo. If you would pay $145 for a CLYW this easily plays better, IMO of course
Many of you have been great with helping making this a pleasant ride! I’m just so excited and reselling these i’ll get a little bit of money back and maybe if I can raise some more money I can get more of these made.
Something I noticed while doing comparisons is it has the rims(without the right) and little step near response of a Summit and the the curvy body of a Wrath. Granted I designed this months before the Summit was even a thought. Here’s a cool picture so you can see it.
Do you have a burnside you can put one next to? Every yoyo is going to be similar to something else, and this one I’d like to see side by side with a burnside.
They look dreamy! Can’t wait! As so many people have already said, huge kudos for making this happen and for getting this far. I’m really glad it exceeded your hopes too. Love it!
I don’t have a Burnside but I guess I do see the similarities with the shape but there are a bunch of differences. Gambits have a step near the response, the Burnside’s body is H shaped because of how the body meets the rims whereas the Gambit’s body goes straight to the rim. Gambit’s body is also more curvy. It’s bound to be similar to a yoyo but I never actually looked at a Burnside haha!
So glad I jumped on this at the very beginning. It really looks so good man. The Shape, the Ano, everything just screams high quality yoyo. I can’t wait to get mine! When are you shipping lol.
For those who have paid, Monday! I would really love if for the ones getting one to maybe write a review or give some first impressions. I really want to hear feedback on the gambits.
