The Mirage has been one of Japan Technology’s flagship designs, celebrated for its balance of speed, control, and precision play. Now, with the Mirage ESD ’24, Japan Technology takes things to the next level with a body crafted entirely from premium 7075 aluminum alloy.

Compared to the standard 6061 version, the Mirage ESD ’24 gains about 2 grams in overall weight, pushing more power and spin time into every throw. But the real difference comes from the material itself. 7075 aluminum is nearly twice as strong as 6061, allowing Japan Technology to refine the walls and redistribute weight with incredible precision. The result is a design that feels denser and more solid in the hand while maintaining a clean, efficient profile.

This combination gives the Mirage ESD ’24 an extra level of stability under pressure, a more powerful presence on the string, and performance that shines in demanding competitive play. Whether you’re pushing speed combos, regens, or long freestyle routines, the Mirage ESD ’24 delivers the spin and consistency needed to perform at the highest level.

7075 construction doesn’t just add strength—it enhances the Mirage’s identity, giving it a feel that’s sharper, more commanding, and built to last.

Japan Technology continues to push the limits of design with the Mirage SB—a bold reimagining of their flagship model. The “SB” stands for Small Bearing, and with this new release the Mirage has been transformed from a C-size bearing design into a finely tuned D-size bearing powerhouse.

Switching to a smaller bearing is no simple task. The Mirage was originally optimized around C-size specs, and reducing the bearing diameter risks upsetting the balance that makes it so iconic. To overcome this, Japan Technology completely re-engineered the design—thickening the outer rim to boost rotational force, refining the weight distribution with a lightweight center, and adjusting the outermost diameter to perfect its feel in play.

The result is a Mirage with more power, more stability, and a refreshingly unique personality on the string. It feels solid and powerful in the hand, yet remarkably natural to throw and catch. For some, it’s a wave of nostalgia—bringing back memories of the golden age of small bearing yo-yos. For others, it’s something entirely new, offering a play experience unlike anything else today.
The Mirage SB proves that even a small change can create a completely new dimension of performance.
