The original Deep State is still totally killer. If you can find one of them for sale then you won’t regret getting it, and they’re usually quite cheap because there’s a lot of them out there.

I put a post up looking for one either a deep state /deeper state or deepest state. It seems I can’t find any online. I did find one on the OneDrop shop but it’s 95 bucks. It’s like a black sarakote hypno I’m not sure if I’m interested in spending 100 bucks

So unless I can find one on the marketplace at a reasonable price I’m not sure. I’m looking now to purchase. I did find a cotton candy for 75. It’s a deepest state.

Also, I apologize to anybody I offended yesterday with calling a duncan cheap plastic crabby yo-yo I did offend some people and I didn’t even think about it. I don’t want bad blood. I want to be friends with everybody. I did throw the butterfly a couple of times yesterday and it’s not half bad I definitely should not judge before trying something

I hear that. I’m basically rather impatient so I bought a different OD throw (Still Rollin’) and then like two days later found a dim corner of the internet that had two Deepest States in it; so I got one. I also hit one of the recent drops by OD and picked up what someone here called the “Cheapest State” – the Not Quite Perfect version. I compare it to my other Deepest and there’s really no difference. It’s living in a leg pocket on the shorts I wear around the farm here. Throwin’ in the corn is cool.

Funny for me to say maybe but I’d counsel patience. Or just throw down and buy the one you find. It’s a fantastic yoyo; I always say it’s my spirit animal.

I picked up a jawbreaker deepest state with a 20% off coupon. Got it for $80 shipped. I ordered this before the yo-yo expert edition came out so it was too late. I already had it on the way or else I would never have ordered it.

I found it on a website called slower things on the one drop website of one of the retailers that they sell with but when I got my jawbreaker it looked like it already been used. There were some marks on it and some Browning like dirt. So a brand new yo-yo I think I can’t prove it but it look like it’s pre-used like some leafy was around for a while and then just box it back up.

Pictures do not do it. Justice of the black marks that were on it in the overall dirtiness of it

Probably an NQP (Not Quite Perfect) for ano, that maybe why it was discounted. A risk with multiple splash anodizing.

I think all NQP Deepest States are marked as such. I would ask the vendor to exchange it.

Ya, to me this looks like there may have been a bit of masking that didn’t wash off properly (what you think might be dirt). Masking is how they anodize multiple colours, similar to dying eggs. These splashes will often have some areas that are swirly or inconsistent. It is a complex process to dye a yoyo 3 different times and sometimes things get a little funky. As @Exmime said, was it marked as an NQP?

Which btw, OneDrop only sells yoyos with anodization flaws, the machining will still be flawless. I don’t see anything that looks like actual play damage in your photos. I would find it hard to believe that a vendor would send you a used yoyo.

No this was full price. It was $89 plus tax. I happened to find a coupon online that gave me 20% off so if I didn’t find that coupon online this would still cost me over $90 with tax they did not have this discounted.

Nothing was labeled as being. Not quite perfect. I sent you both a link. That’s what I thought when I got it it just looked really dirty so it could be anodizing tape that wasn’t cleaned off cuz to me it looked used cuz it was dirty. The other thing is the anodizing is definitely all over the place. There’s faded spots. There’s really messy spots but it was never marked as being anything but perfect

you didn’t mention any of that when you showed photos of it a day ago in your other post. How does it play?

Do yourself a favor and ignore everyone else.

Get yourself a DocPop Weekender, a DocPop PLTPs, and your choice of the deep state line. Grab those 3 and you will never need another responsive again.

Ignore the guy trashing Butterfly XT’s. I LOVE XTs. I grab them just to have different colors to match my nails . Those little $5 yoyos can do almost as much as any premium responsive I have.

The reason for the deep state line is because its semi responsive. People make them snappy but the point is for those to be slippy so they play better on string.

The Weekender and the PLTPs are very snappy tho. So best of both worlds. Weekender is the easiest best begginer responsive out there IMO.

If you want a nice plastic responsive, there is ONE answer. Duncan Freehand. Period.

Guy talking about XTs was the OP who asked for advice!

My first thought was ‘here we go again…’ I maybe even predicted a thread titled ‘I just got my deepest state…and it’s rubbish’ However, this looks to be a legitimate gripe this time man, I would have totally expected that to be marked NQP given the ano job. I personally wouldn’t be ‘too’ bothered, it was picked up at 20% off after all, and if you ever get around to actually throwing it, you’ll find it plays just as well as any other one out there. Still a sweet throw tho bro, have fun with it! :+1:

FWIW, I use magic erasers to clean up my ano and engravings, it will take off anything but the finish, should hopefully work in the black spots if it’s not a straight up finish defect.

Sorry to hear about the trouble, hope you enjoy it otherwise!
