How much of your collection is pre-owned?

Yeah, it’s a bit of a crapshoot so it sucks when they don’t disclose what condition the throw is in.

asking for a video of the yoyo to see the condition is the way to go imo, as well as a video of them checking the vibe via nail test.

I haven’t been in it too long. Only one pre-owned so far, but I have no doubt that number will increase as I spend more time in this hobby.

Thats a good idea!!

Interesting results with people voting hardly any and mostly BST in the top two. Mines about 25%.

Initially when I started back. Bought new. Once I discovered my preffered play style, BST has been a big thing for me.

A lot of my recent acquisitions have been out of production models not available in stores anymore. I thank the curators for taking care of them and selling to me.

If I can make a drop for a Yoyo before it sells out, I am on it. But cant snag them all, so back to BST.

Have fun.

Quite a bit, around 20-25% maybe, looking to increase these numbers in the future. New yoyos are fun, but i have nostalgia for some that i owned in the past, and sold or traded for any reason.

0% is preowned but I want a collapsar one day so that will change. I like to think I’m helping support the manufacturers and yye by just buying new stuff but I also just don’t want to deal with PayPal and turned off bst for my forum feed.

I think 85% or even more is second hand, I do not mind second hand if treated enough well and make me save so many money but generally the yoyo for sale are in great conditions except some very old models.
In this way I was able to afford yoyos that I never imagine to buy for half the price

15% is auction or BST, and when I BST I use the YYEF. I’ve tried the FB Groups, but the users are more consistent here.

Probably a solid 75% at this point, I find that yoyo design doesn’t evolve fast enough to justify always buying the latest throws when there’s a TON of backlog that’s all great too. There’s obviously exceptions, but I love snapping up some good deals on the BST.

All of my collection is store bought by me but I feel like with newer folk such as myself that’s normally the case. We buy all the new stuff and this and that because we instantly get hooked on new yo-yos and the feeling it brings. But as you start to progress and figure out your style and what types of yos you like, I feel you start to scour the BST boards more in search of stuff that meets your preferences, to find some older stuff etc

mostly buy new here. I enjoy the experience some of the makers give on the new stuff and I like the warranty provided by them.
