Haven’t been here in a while, last time I was posting on here about making resin 3d printed yoyos. It’s been a few years since then and now I’m a fully fledged machinist (in training, almost done with my associates). I’ve been looking towards designing a yoyo out of materials, and one that’s stuck out to me was Hastelloy, especially since there’s a foot of 4 inch diameter pieces of it in the shop.
So, has anyone else in the industry actually made a yoyo out of Hastelloy? and if so, can someone give me some tips on this?
Due to the lack of material, I’m being forced to design this around being machined manually. Yes, I can hit the tolerances on the bearing post and the gaps around that area. No you can’t buy one when its done, I’m only making 2 yoyos and the schools shop gets to keep the other one.
