I ordered what I thought was a Boomer’s Club yoyo from G Squared (Jake). I received a plain red mono-metal throw with no branding at all. G Squared (Jake) does not accept returns. It was not what I ordered. This can be verified by the email placing the order. His site does not state that all sales are final. Nor was this a custom order. This is a violation of basic business law practices .
The yoyo is completely as received with all packaging and enclosures. I only removed it from it’s burlap sack packaging enough to verify that it was incorrect.
If anyone would be interested in this throw, I will sell it postage paid via Paypal - Goods and Services for: $68.00 which is a 20% discount off the purchase price.
What throw did you order? The only ones that had an engraving were the Founder’s Edition and the Space Wagon colorways, for which there were no extras. Those were pre-order only. The colorways were specified VERY clearly from the start. The Cherry Bomb, Gotham, and Offroad had no YYBC branding on them.
The Workhorse is a Boomers Club yo-yo created with help from @G2_Jake. So what you got was a YYBC Workhorse in the Cherry Bomb colorway.
Yo said “boomers throw” which, to most people, would indicate that you were interested in a YYBC workhorse, which is the boomers throw that was just released.
It came in 5 colorways
Founders edition which was black and engraved and a preorder available to founders only.
Space wagon which was a preorder for members only and had a space wagon and yybc engraving on it.
Off road, Gotham, and cherry bomb which were a preorder but also had a few extras. These did not have any engravings.
You received exactly what you asked for, you also did not order this from his website, you sent the man an email and asked for something. Doesn’t matter what the website said… They weren’t available for sell on it.
You should probably be a little more clear on what you are wanting when you order something.
If you go to Wendy’s and tell them you want a bacon cheeseburger and they give you a jr bacon cheeseburger but what you wanted was a baconator, that’s not their fault, it’s yours.
I’m sorry you didn’t get what you expected but as others have said, that very much is a Boomer’s Club yoyo - the YYBC Workhorse in the Cherry Bomb Colorway. It’s a great throw - sorry it’s not the colorway you wanted.
Someone will get a great throw at a great price.
Just wish there wasn’t so much shade being thrown at Jake in your for sale thread - because he did nothing wrong here.
I expected one that was branded "Boomer’s Club’. I was in on the Boomer’s Club from the beginning. I assume that made me a founder? I made every attempt to indicated that I wanted one of the Boomer’'s Club yoyos. I guess I didn’t follow closely enough.
The Founder’s Club version had to be ordered via the Pre-Order back in November - where half was paid then and half when they came in. The Founders Edition was black with your username on it. When the pre-order came out (which I also missed) you could order the Founders Edition, the Space Wagon Edition (the only 2 with writing on them), the Gotham, Gravel, or Cherry Bomb. ALL are YYBC Workhorses - therefore all are “Boomer’s Club” yo-yos. When Jake had them made - he had extras made (as he usually does) to get through QC, etc. When they all came in and were shipped to those that did the pre-order - the extras were left to Cody to make a list of those of us who missed the pre-order and were still hoping to snag one.
Your email and Jake’s response goes along with that sequence of events - you asked for a Boomer’s Club Yoyo - Jake said he had a Red one left (not already claimed by Cody’s “extra list”.
Sorry you are going to let a colorway keep you from throwing a fun great throw - but I get it - as I can be colorway picky as well.
EDIT to add to what you EDITED - admittedly all the details of the Workhorse are buried in the YYBC big thread - but you can search and find the info - which is what I did when I missed it. There isn’t any mention of it on the G2 Website as it’s more of a Collaboration and sold through the YYBC. NONE were sold on his website.
I think the disconnect here is that the Workhorse is a “Boomers Club yoyo”, because the Boomers Club helped design it. The Cherry Bomb Workhorse you received doesn’t have any engraving or logo on it that says “Boomers Club”, but it’s still a Boomers Club throw.
I understand the confusion, and get that you’re upset, but it’s also pretty obvious that nobody intentionally misled you or violated any business practice laws as you’re claiming.
That yoyo isnt a G2 yoyo, Jake just helped the Boomers Club make the yoyo. You cannot blame jake for any wrong doing because there is none, you shouldve done more research into “the red one”. Sorry but at least you’ll get some money back people love those, and if it makes you feel better i have seen 3 of the yoyos you’re looking for sell on the bst. Make a LF post!
