David from onedrop just confirmed that this is the original summit.
I wish it was that simple but anyone can make a matte finish. Even if I could touch this it wouldnât be conclusive because Pyramatte is not that consistent enough that. I have a couple Pyramatte ODs that are really sticky, and some others feel almost greasy. The Artifact I have is so glossy that it looks like a totally different finish but it looks the same in One Dropâs photos, and a few other recent Pyramatte ODs have this very shiny quality to them.
Iâd say the funny engraving is likely due to wide manufacturing tolerance, but I donât know how engravings like this are done so maybe someone who knows about that could explain it better.
Super good condition on that 28S too! I have one and those blues from back then were known to fade away really easily. Nice piece!
Like fade in the sun? ![]()
It wouldnât be because of all this fuss. I think you should be directly concerned about this problem if you were going to buy it, and discuss it personally in messages directly with Burchard (and he has a vast history on the BST forums, he wouldnât put his reputation on the line for a summit that might be fake). As Iâve already negotiated with him, I know this is an obvious fact.
I donât want to shift away from the BST post, but Steve had talked about it before. The blue for some reason didnât stick as well or wasnât as thick as the other dyes, so it just naturally wore away easier with play and skin oils, etc.
Bump
Whatâs the difference between the proto and release any design differences?
Thank you
Thats because the artifact is 7075. Most onedrop pyramatte is quite consistent. Also I havent thrown any other yoyos that could mimic pyramatte apart from the fairly recent tumbled stuff coming from at design etc.
