Freshly Dirty Cardboard SteamBoat!

From Freshly Dirty: This yoyo is actually the follow up to our original debut metal yoyo, which was the Cardboard Dreamboat.

As far as the design goes, Alex and I were brainstorming with the team and we wanted something that would stand out from a distance. We wanted to keep the same general profile as the Dreamboat (what we call our boat series) while giving it a totally new weight distribution. The clean rounded cup was visually appealing, and the H shaped profile still allows it to have plenty of rim weight. One of the more ‘old school’ design features of the original Dreamboat was the mid wall, which really helped it excel at tricks like regens and stalls. For the Cardboard Steamboat, we kept that mid wall, but we rounded it down slightly. This changes the way the yoyo feels on the string, almost giving it the feedback and control of a classic organic shape. It’s a bit of a quirky solution to allow this yoyo to mimic the best traits that H shaped and organic shaped yoyos have to offer.

The original run of Steamboats was only 30 pieces, so when our team overwhelmingly voted to recommission this design we were excited to do it. The Salmanila colorway is Wes Shuck’s signature color choice, meant to be a cross between the color of a manilla folder and salmon. He’s a funky guy so he needed a funky color.
