Dressel Designs News: Introducing Musubi

I hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving! Please check out our A grade yoyos on yoyoexpert with their black Friday deals!

I also wanted to share what we’re doing for black Friday on our direct website. We have deals on b grades that are 50% or more off our A grade prices, and we have deeper discount codes based off your total order amount!

BLACKFRIDAY10 gets you 10% off 100$

BLACKFRIDAY15 gets you 15% off 150$

BLACKFRIDAY20 gets you 20% off 200$

For anyone crazy about DD, I also put up a prototype mystery box. It contains 2 a grade bimetal prototypes and 1 b grade mystery production bimetal. Great opportunity to pick up some DD History!

We’ve already sold through A LOT the last few days but still some awesome finds. It’s the easiest way to try our models you might’ve been on the fence about before, or picking up a beater of some of your favorites for your pocket, 5a, or anything else you can think of! This deal is going on until 12/2.

I deliberated for a few days, but I finally pulled the trigger!! Black Oasis incoming!

Edit: that mystery box went quick!!!

Thanks Kyle!

The mystery box was just a 1 of 1 sorta thing.. I had a few left over from when our team member Tomas decided to take hiatus and didn’t want anymore yoyos. It was priced high, but the purchaser got iterations of bimetals that will never see the light of day (IE, a smooth prototype for a d bearing version that just couldn’t work for mass production due to balancing) and a b grade bimetal on top of that.

Site down? Says “We’re getting things ready. Check back soon!”.

Oh weird.

Should be fixed now? I must’ve hit something by accident. Ty for the shoutout.

Edit; I figured it out. I put the discount codes as an announcement banner and never hit ok :joy:

Introducing Musubi: a signature model for Bachi that takes inspiration from the YYR acrophobia and a unique take on plastic aesthetics on performance monometals.

From Bachi:

Musubi is an AL/PC design with a double rim and PC sandwiched in between the rims. Musubi is also one of my favorite snacks, the sandwiched plastic in the rim reminded me of them, and I wanted to make a colorway inspired by it.

Last year Patrick and I started talking about details for this yoyo, sharing my favorite yoyo designs and what characteristics I enjoy. I wanted something fun that didn’t lack power for my favorite tricks. We went through different CAD drawings and added things I originally didn’t think about at the time. The 1st prototype was a hit! It was perfect from the start and didn’t want to change the way it felt. It has a soft, bouncy feel on string with ‘float’ in all the right areas and time. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Releasing at the end of the month

Thanks! It is really special!

Are the specs public yet? Looks like something I’m really gonna like! When’s the release date?

Not out yet but they’re pretty standard! We’ll be releasing 3/31

Musubi will be releasing Tuesday 3/31 for Dressel Designs 5 year anniversary in the following colors!:

  1. Pink Lemonade: a frosted pink hue with a lemon PC ring.

  1. Freeza: a clear silver body with an accentuated purple PC ring.

  1. Estate: a peaceful muted navy tone with a frosted PC ring.

  1. Quartz: a crisp lavender, created to be the inverse of the Freeza colorway. We used a white POM rim for a bit extra juice on the throw, and to more closely match the silver/clear of the Freeza colorway.

  1. Nori: a sophisticated mossy green paired with amber PC rings.

Comment which one is your favorite!

I’m liking the Nori the most, but they all look great!

Yeah, Nori looks best to me. Like the green and green/orange combo is always neat. Also enjoy the soft lavender.

I wish this could’ve been hold off a couple of weeks. Gotta jump at the chance to grab a Kamuraiju and sadly can’t afford both

I wouldn’t sweat it, we made a lot.

I just read the Hobbit, so the dwarf was the first thing I thought of, lol. The colorway itself sure doesn’t help :fire:

Hobbit Nori vibes :joy: I see it but definitely wasn’t the aim! We were going for a sushi related theme.

I would have said Nori is my favorite because I like green (and nice green yoyos are somewhat hard to find imo), but the Estate just looks so damn elegant that it’s damn hard to decide haha

Get the Estate. Then you’re more unique and there’s more Noris left. :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:
