Eight years is a long time to hold onto an idea. Back in 2018, W1LD owner Chen Yang and designer Cici, both members of the now-defunct God-Tricks, were already convinced that a polycarbonate body paired with stainless steel rims had more untapped potential than a standard bimetal. The manufacturing of the time couldn’t prove them right. Built to mark W1LD’s third anniversary, the Draco finally does.
This is the realization of a vision that survived the end of one brand, the founding of another, and nearly a decade of waiting for the right moment. The polycarbonate body keeps the overall feel light and nimble, letting the yo-yo respond quickly and naturally to the player’s movements. The stainless steel rims push mass to the outer edge where it counts most, delivering the stability and spin power to hold its axis through fast, energetic play without ever feeling locked down or heavy. The two materials don’t just coexist here, they pull in complementary directions and make each other better for it.
The design philosophy that God-Tricks stood for didn’t disappear when the brand did. It carried forward, waited, and found its moment in the Draco. Seven years is a long time to hold onto an idea. The result makes it easy to see why they did. This is W1LD’s anniversary statement, and it’s one worth celebrating!
