Just grabbed a Sage Green BOY. I really liked the Wildfire (my last purchase), but it has a very distinct competition feel, being very light and bi-metal with so much outer rim weight. Hoping to try a sort of opposing feel with the BOY, being a more typically weighted mono metal with double rims.

Regarding Wildfire and this competition feel, do you believe that Akita would fit this same standards?

The Wildfire is very different from all CLYW lineup. It is just that classic modern comp throw. I find the Akita more a powerful but chill yoyo not comp like at all.

          Hmmmm, thanks for the insight.
Agreed. In a Scales x CLYW podcast, Steve Brown commented that the Wildfire is more like a Japanese yoyo than an American yoyo.
The Akita and Wildfire are 2 of my absolute favorites, but they’re vastly different. The Wildfire plays light, refined and very rim weighted. The Akita has a more solid and cohesive (rather than hollow) feel. It’s significantly wider with a ‘flowier’ feel.
