Deepest State

“He” (random stranger) shortened the axle a few threads, removed some material from the non axle Side Effect, replaced the standard C with a narrow C, added .02 shim on 1 side and .01 shim on the other side, tightened it with righteous force, and finished it off with lots of love. Then he vanished into the mist and was never seen again for 20 minutes. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::wink::+1:

got my blue today, never seen a blue OD in person, it’s actually realllly nice.
i found the stock bearing and grease bucket to not be as snappy as i wanted even with that included string

i ended up greasing up a spare OD bearing i had with super lube and got it to spin silent and snappy, very happy with it

Ultra grey is drying, I think it won’t be too hard to get it where I want it. We’ll see tomorrow!

that’s my DS collection. The blue/grey half swap is the one referenced earlier in the thread modded by a mysterious stranger, thanks Steve.:folded_hands:

So far the newest addition is a whole lot of fun. I haven’t yet put the grease bucket in, one thing at a time eh? One thing I really like about this release? It still feels like a slimline! Even with the addition to width, it still does. The deeper felt like an original amped up, and this feels like the deeper amped up. That makes perfect sense to me.

It’s definitely a kickarse throw right outa the box. I wonder if they’ll do a cerakote run like the others?

anywhos, way it to OD. Home run!

My wait is officially over, these look stunning in person and really happy with both of my color choices

Just got it delivered after some USPS delays. Half-swap I call “The Dress” but could also be Sonic the Hedgehog.

With the default One Drop string it’s semi-responsive; some leeway with string stacking, and not so good at looping. Lots of possibilities with string, pads, bearings, side effects to get it exactly where you want it. Very comfortable, great slimline width (measured as 33.15 mm) and plays thoroughly modern. Instant classic.

I love that OD offers the option to order any colorways available as a half-swap! I’ve done that a few times.

That’s awesome! I never knew that.

Definitely a good money saving option. Last year I bought 2 Deeper States off of another store when a restock happened and did my own half swap. Not opposed to having a pair of these though

Sonic and Tails!

Has anyone halfswapped a splash yet??? I’m hoping to score one eventually and would love to see what it looks like. @codinghorror have you tried that yet??

Spiked and lubed up, ready to roll!

Yup! starting with recessed permatex, conkave bearing, and thin string. Then I’ll tweak as needed.
