Anyone Using Buyee?

Hey everyone!

I found one of my dream yo-yos, (I had help), on buyee.

Any Americans here have experience buying from Japanese retailers with buyee?

I’m wondering what sort of fees and shipping charges I should expect. The yoyo i want is equivalent of 220 USD on the original retailer. Think I could get it into my hands for under 300?

Any help or links to guides would be appreciated!

And then what Japanese retailers can I search? Am I able to buy from Mavetrick?

Many thanks!

I’m not in the US, am in EU but buyee is legit, I’ve been buying clothes through buyee and other proxy services for about 20 years. I purchased a titanium peak on there last year, unfortunately it got bounced back by customs I never got a reason why, had it resent and it got through no problem. I’m not sure of the current position on tarriffs but if there’s no extra tarriffs you shouldn’t get changed any extra fees on arrival.

There’s a few shipping options available as well EMS which is the Japan equivalent of USPS is fast and reliable, costs will vary from time-to-time depending on what’s going on in the world, I used to pay about 20 bucks for shipping but last time I purchased something it was over 40 bucks.

I don’t think Maverick store are shipping to the US currently… that may have changed recently though.

I’ve used it as my proxy for purchasing from Mercari, it’s a real business. This was pre tariffs however, I’ve been avoiding overseas purchases due to unexpected potential fees through shipping and customs. Let us know how it goes.
