Any yoyo players in the Philadelphia PA area?

ok thank you

Hi, I just found this chat on Google to help my 11-year-old son get involved in a yo-yo community. He is a huge fan of yo-yo. We live in West Chester, outside of Philadelphia. If anyone knows of or hosts regular meetups or any events, we would definitely more than love to join in! Looking forward to anyone responding to my message! Thank you!

Closest is going to be tiki tiki yoyo club in Woodbury about 45 drive from your area, nothing firm has happened in Philly in a while and typically happens when it’s summer and nice weather

I talked to my local library a bit ago and they are interested in my interest in a club, so I need to follow through and get it set up, I’ll eventually make a thread dedicated to the club

Edit: email sent. Productive bathroom break lol

Edit: received form, submitted, awaiting response.

No word back yet

So my wife told me that the particular library I applied to isn’t very receptive to outsiders starting clubs or functions there. They took her idea of starting a mending class and started their own, without ever responding to her initial inquiry or letting her know once they started it, she eventually saw it in a flier. So, I’ll be reaching out to other possible venues.

We have a couple comic book shops, and a few other libraries nearby, so I’ll try send out some messages this week.

any word on the venue search?

Waiting to hear back from a comic shop, the library ghosted me

I’m in northern Baltimore county. Philly ain’t far from me, I could probably make it. Take the train, make a day outa it. keep me posted.

Septa’s Willow Grove regional station is 2 minutes from my house, I could give you a lift!

Oh yeah, maybe we can work that out once a date gets decided on! Thanks man!

Okay the one shop just replied “no thanks”, that was pretty disappointing.

Next shop is interested but too small

The next next one I just found out very recently closed, that’s a bummer.

Let a voice message for the director of the Horsham Library, which is a very nice newer library in the area which has LOTS of room for activities so I am hopeful.

YOU GUYS!!!

My library finally replied!!

I replied:

So I think having more control of it and having it open to all is the way to go, so I need to go through the township and request the room!

I’m thinking opposite weekends that Tiki Tiki meets for those that want to do both

Club name ideas?

Montco YoYo Players Association?

Willy G Throwers Club?

Tricounty YoYo Club?

Should I open a dedicated thread to this?

Edit: message to township sent.

I’m gonna be hard pressed to make much of anything the next few months but I will definitely do my best to direct people to the resources and am always here for support and making connections
