Started throwing in high school in the mid 90’s (class of 98 yo!). between then and about 2005 i was still trying to catch up on some old school tricks i still cant do, as well as move forward to the insane new tricks coming out of the mid school era, which I literally quit trying to learn out of jealousy and frustration. I believe when I got to magic drop and wrist mount, I gave up. throwing a guaranteed knot every time you make an attempt ended my pursuit of new tricks. after that, i’d find a random new yoyo here and again, play for a sec, and put it down for years again. but since around 2020 i’ve rediscovered the yo, my collection has exploded from what was left over in my toy box, and in 2022 finally landed magic drop, shockwave, and started working on kamikaze elements and freestyling them, wrist mount feels easy, and i’ve landed spirit bomb a handful of times…

I can comfortably freestyle elements of buddahs revenge, cold fusion, skin the gerbil, rewind, the matrix, kwyjibo, triangulation, and some general trapeze stuff, and recently magicdrop and kamikaze. i tend to prefer side style 1a tricks, I am starting to get comfortable with the bind but i have so much to learn… i am still moving away from midschool semi-responsive yoyos for string tricks. Responsive, I finally learned how to loop and alternate inside and outside, from and sometimes to around the world. I’m also discovering modern responsive stalls, and trying to find the courage to start learning a little 5a so can mix that in.
