I originally got into throwing back in the 90s when a big craze was starting to build. I got out throwing because I never really progressed much and never encountered other throwers. Fast forward 20 years and this derpy thrower is contending with a TBI after getting hit by a motorcycle while on a bicycle!
I hated how badly my hand-eye coordination was, then I remembered how fun throwing was when I was a kid, not that I called it that back then. Decided to look up what the scene was and ended up going glossy-eyed while turning my head to the side after seeing modern throwing on youtube.
Promptly got a Replay Pro, spent the better part of a month learning how to bind.Got to meet the throwing community through r/Throwers, then Youtube and Instagram. Fell in love with the positivity and chill vibes.
Been spreading the joy of throwing to all I encounter as I still fail to land more impressive tricks, but have fun regardless. I doubt I will ever compete, but I will happily spectate competitions and hang out with cool as hell yoyo fam.
