I really like half-swaps, but I think you should def. send it back if it’s not what you were hoping for.
Why did you say these things would have no resale value? When I was trying to figure out what you ordered, that really threw me off lol.
YYFs generally don’t have very good resale value because there’s so many models and so many of each.
The Boost is also rarely talked about so that makes the resale value even lower. I’ve seen 3 or 4 NM or mint ones just sit around for $40-$45 before.
Add some 3a damage after I play them? Yeah these will probably be worth $25 for the pair
It’s a hassle, I’m disappointed but I’m too lazy to send it back. And I’ve been itching to play with a new pair for weeks. They’re right in front of me right now I don’t wanna send them back and wait another week

I spent a solid 2 hours justifying to myself this was the right pair to upgrade to
My top choices were the Phaser and Anubis but those would’ve ran me at least $200 for a BEAT pair so I was lookin for somethin cheaper.
In the end I decided to get it due to the fact that Alex is a genius with a yoyo and outside of yoyo(also he’s my favorite 3a player and I’ve been watching a ton of his stuff lately for inspo) and this is probably one of the few yoyos that was specifically designed FOR 3a with 1a in mind rather than FOR 1a with 3a in mind

Well said. I’d guess 3a is probably the least popular style. The investment for one and on top of that the coordination level is IMO way harder than looping. I can throw lefty but not simultaneously.

Not sure what yo-yos you have access to but you could potentially mess around with a non matching pair of plastics while you wait.
Better than not swapping and regretting for a lot longer than a week.
It’s incredibly rewarding. Improvement is definitely slow but Learning and getting comfortable with a new 3a trick is so satisfying. I honestly haven’t had this much fun PRACTICING and improving since my first year of yoyoing.
1a is fun because I’m pretty proficient at it now but I honestly hate practicing it nowadays
I was also interested in the Boost because Alex used some BIG guns in terms of 3a yoyos when he was unsponsored. Ignition, Phaser, Ex Machina when he was sponsored by YYF. Some of the most highly praised yoyos for 3a on the market right there so I didn’t think he would settle for something that wasn’t great.
Yes it is! Tbh I thought it was that grayish color with gold rims. Oh well though, I’ve actually been craving a raw throw lately. It’s quite sexy!
I find it odd to use bimetals for 3a, wouldn’t you want monometals for strength and durability? Like 7075 even… or a pair of ti-vayders imjustsayin

Got this as a trade. I did previously own an Interlagos however it ended up vibey. I mean really vibey pulse vibe type situation which made it pretty much unplayable for me. I love it though and it is a super good proper H shaped yoyo. I will try not to ever ding it or take it apart and hopefully it stays smooth (y)
